We are a group of Blount County residents who appreciate the rural character of the place we call home. And we want to maintain that inherent charm. The concerns of our community transcend party lines. Therefore, we are a non-partisan Political Action Committee. We work to support public officials and public policies that will promote the growth and development of Blount County through the basic principles of smart growth, some of which are:

• Strengthen and direct development toward existing communities
• Preserve open space, farmland, natural beauty and critical
  environmental areas
• Create walkable communities
• Create a range of housing opportunities and choices
• Create a mix of land uses
• Take advantage of compact building design
• Provide a variety of transportation choices
• Make development decisions predictable, fair and cost-effective
• Encourage community and stakeholder collaboration
